Back to Reality

Well We are back from camping! The summer went by WAY too fast! The boys had a great time and we did a lot of things, swimming, nature hunts and many campfires....I got to go out to my friend's place and *play* with her horses. They are beautiful and easy to ride. I may post pics a little later.
The kids have started back to school and are very happy to be back with their friends. Well thats all for now... Enjoy your day!

Summertime

Well I have been off camping and after a short jaunt back home, I am able to get caught up with computer stuff. I came home for 4 days, but my plan was to *camp* for the whole summer with my boys.We have been enjoying our time there and we have been having a great time feeding the chipmunks, named *chippy* and *Buddy*. I have taken a few pictures of the kids feeding them. We even had them coming into the camper for their peanuts..... the boys thought it was hilarious when our dog Lady jumped at *Buddy* when he came in for his treat.... Buddy according to the boys, became a *pin-ball* game as he pinged off every piece of furniture to get back outside. There has been quite a bit of rain there lately, but we still have lots of things to do to keep us busy. Hubby only had two weeks off for vacation, so he has been commuting down for weekends. He finds it VERY quiet at home without the *gentle* pitter-patter of the kids. School will be back in before you know it, so we are making the best of the summer!!

8 Random Things

I'm joing the bandwagon with my friend Jen's blog http://jenshumbleopinion2.blogspot.com/

*8 random things about me....* so here are mine.

1. In high school, I wouldn't give my *future* husband the time of day,

ten years after high school I married the *dude* I wouldn't be caught dead talking to.

2. I have psychic abilities that sometimes even FREAK me out.(I also believe in ghosts, have *seen* and *heard* things....)

3. I have had two homebirths with no medication the first a fairly long labour and the second only 3 hours start to finish..... I would rather have a longer labour than a short one, cause it was so fast and intense I was almost begging for drugs. (he was almost also a water-birth, but I chickened out the last minute) Hubby was supposed to help deliver the baby, but he was so fast there wasn't time. My first son was born in hospital... hence wanting homebirths for the other two boys (I did not like being in hospital for birthing)

4. I once put my cat in the baby's sleepers (PJ's) cause I thought she would look cute.... I was 34 at the time.

5. After 15 1/2 years with my hubby I still get butterfies in my stomach when he pulls into the driveway after work.

6. I love horses

7. I have met many people and I consider them friends..... and that everyone I have met is part of my destiny/fate and that I may have shared a past life with them.

8.I love to knit, and make many things for everyone else, and hardly ever anything for myself.

Here are the *Little* angels......

Boys will be Boys

I have 7 and 9 year old boys at home who do the most typical boy things, Cam my 7 year old informed us that he wishes to have a pet snake. We have held off our decision until Sept. citing that we won't have time to research and look after a snake during our busy summer.(I thought that was a good stalling tactic)
Yesterday was typical.... the boys, Brad 9 and Cam were playing ninja-kick-crazy-ultimate-whatever, when I suddenly heard that knowing blood-curdling *I'm Dying* scream! Of course I didn't jump up right away because that scream usually appears daily in our house. Eventually Brad came to the living room hiccoughing, and sat gingerly onto the sofa, and said to me "Mom, we were playing kicking and Cam just kicked me in the privates and it REALLY hurts, where are my kidneys?" To which I replied very seriously, " Well hon your kidneys are here (and pointed to where kidneys were located) so you don't need to worry about them, it's your testicals that were *knocked* and I'm sure that hurts alot." (Being a woman I wouldn't know what that felt like, but I thought I'd throw some sympathy his way.)Turning this into a possible teaching moment, I said, " do you know what your testicals are for, have you learned about it in health class?" He said he hadn't and asked what they were for. So I told him they held the sperm-seeds that would make babies..... to which his little chin quivered and he said sadly " I.... think...(sniff)... I (sniff) just..... lost.... one."
Soooo to make it better I said that the seeds don't form 'til he's a little older and he didn't lose one, asked him if he needed some ice, and told him to take it easy for a while. Well then out comes the culprit.... after listening to the discussion, and was crying his heart out. I asked him what was wrong and he replied "now I've hurt Brad forever, and your, gonna ground me for a year and ya won't let me have my pet snake." I told him he wasn't grounded for a year, and I really wished they would stop "playing-kicking" games, and he needed to take it easy for a while too. And that of course allowed me to have a little peace for a little while too.
Until next time........

My first post

I'm starting a blog! My friend suggested that I have too many funny stories that need to be shared. I will endeavor to entertain those who wish to share in my everyday life. First of all a little bit of background, I love to knit, I'm a knitting freak! I also enjoy horses and love to be around them as much as I can. My favourite actor is Rutger Hauer, hence the nickname *hauergirl*. (My all time favourite movie is Ladyhawke).
*My three sons* are my pride and joy, I call them my *ABC* kids, as their names are Anthony, Bradley and Cameron. They are the source of a lot of my *stories* although my hubby's antics create quite a stir sometimes too.
I have also had many psychic things happen, which I may share with everyone in the future :)
The picture I have added today, is a model of my favourite breed of horse, a Fresian, that I created in honour of the movie Ladyhawke. (I never did tell my hubby how much this 9 inch tall model cost me to make....but that is another story.....)
I will leave you with hopefully with a piqued interest until my next post!
Take Care
